New Trailer Shows Bad Piggies Really Can Fly

September 18, 2012
Oink, oink. With just a little more than a week before Bad Piggies hits the App Store, Yahoo! Games is featuring the first gameplay trailer from the title. The game, from developer Rovio, focuses on the other side of the Angry Birds equation. Instead of looking to tear the pigs down, players will be tasked with help building the swine inventive vehicles on their quest to steal more eggs. Click here if you can’t see the video. As you can see, players construct vehicles and then steer through winding courses to try to obtain those glorious three stars. A blueprint mode allows parts to be easily dragged and dropped. While the title takes the well-known pigs and adds some gameplay elements from the developer’s recent Amazing Alex title, Rovi officials said they consider Bad Piggies a new franchise that will receive a signifigant commitment and push.
"As far as the gameplay goes, Bad Piggies and Angry Birds are complete opposites," Petri Järvilehto, EVP of Games at Rovio told Y! Games. "Angry Birds smash things up, Bad Piggies build stuff. The pigs are all about making plans and building things, even -- and especially -- when they don't work!"
The title will hit the App Store on Thursday, Sept. 27. While the gameplay looks interesting, I don’t know whether the title will have the long-term staying power that Angry Birds has had. Source: Yahoo! Games
