Do Your Pics Have What It Takes To Make It To The Winner's Circle In Picsy?
October 8, 2012
The game that has been described as "Words with Frames" and "Draw Something meets Instagram" has just received its biggest update yet. I'm talking, of course, about Picsy.
Indeed, Picsy is similar to Words with Friends and Draw Something in that it is also an asynchronous multiplayer game.
But whereas Words with Friends and Draw Something deal with words and drawings, respectively, Picsy deals mainly with — you guessed it — pictures. And this explains its apparent association with frames and Instagram.
In Picsy, you compete with other players, friends and strangers alike, as you come up with the best picture to go with a given word. And the latest update to the game is set to incite you to compete in even more fun ways.
Picsy developer Grab Games calls this update its "October Surprise" for players. And in keeping with the fact that October is the month of Halloween, Grab Games has "added in so many new features, it's scary."
In particular, the update introduces a couple of big, new features: Winner's Circle Photo Stream and Camera/Photo Filters.
The former lets you see the latest winning photos from players around the world, while the latter lets you customize your photo submissions with fun effects.
Apart from those, the update brings a new "Get New Words" button, collapsible menus, achievements, and other minor improvements.
Also optimized for iPhone 5 and iOS 6, the latest version of Picsy is available now in the App Store for free.
