Production On The iPad Mini Could Have Already Started In Brazil
October 1, 2012
Japanese blog Macotakara is reporting that production on the iPad Mini is underway. Foxconn is manufacturing the long-rumored iOS tablet in Brazil, not China, according to the report.
This is the second time Macotakara has stated that iPad Mini production would happen in Brazil. In July, they reported that the new iPad would include a 7.85-inch display. Since then, iPad Mini rumors have only grown.
Fortune reported that Apple would hold their iPad Mini event on Wednesday, Oct. 17, with press invitations going out on Oct. 10. If correct, this event would come just five weeks after the iPhone 5 officially debuted.
It should also be noted that the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, Calif. is showing no public events scheduled between Tuesday, Oct. 16 through Thursday, Oct. 18. Yerba was the location of the iPhone 5 event and other Apple events.
