Apple Forces Our Hands: Messages Beta To Expire December 14

If you're still using Messages Beta on a Lion-powered Mac, Apple has some bad news. The Messages Beta program, which launched back in February and allowed users to test out Messages ahead of Mountain Lion's release, is set to expire on December 14. This means that Lion-powered Messages users are going to have to upgrade to OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) if they want to continue using the Messages app on their Mac computer.
Apple recently sent out an email alerting this demographic of Messages users. The email reads:
Mountain Lion is available for just $19 in the Mac App Store, and so upgrading isn't going to break the bank. You can even keep most of your Lion settings when upgrading to the new operating system using a savvy tool. Either way, folks still using Messages Beta don't have long before their hand is going to be forced, either way. Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
