In this day and age, it seems that anyone can create a social networking app centered on anything. There's already a popular social networking app for filtered photos. There have also been a few social networking apps for food. But now, I'm about tell you about a new social networking app that deals solely with … countdowns.
Appropriately, the new app in question is called Tikr. As a social network for countdowns, Tikr lets you, well, follow countdowns.
Tikr countdowns can be about practically anything: movie, TV shows, concerts, sporting events, product releases, vacations, anniversaries, holidays, and any upcoming events that are important to you.
Using the app's basically Instagram-like interface, you can create a countdown by selecting a date and time to count down to. You can also add a photo, tag your friends, set a reminder, and choose whether the countdown is public or private.
Naturally, you can also discover countdowns created by other Tikr users.
If you find a countdown that interests you, you can follow it, comment on it, or share it on Facebook or Twitter.
And when a countdown that you follow is about to expire, you will receive a push notification reminder to keep you in the know.
