Finally, PicFrame Gets Updated With iPhone 5 Support ... And Then Some
January 6, 2013
At long last, more than three months after the release of the device, PicFrame has been updated for the iPhone 5.
Actually, PicFrame received an update on the very same day the iPhone 5 was released. That update pushed the popular universal photo framing app to version 6.0.
PicFrame's 6.0 update did bring some neat enhancements, including support for shapes and taking photos right within the app. But noticeably absent was the inclusion of support for the four-inch display of the then newly released iPhone 5.
Well, you know what they say: it's better late than never. PicFrame has just been updated to version 6.1. And sure enough, as promised in the release notes for the app's bug-fixing 6.0.1 update, the app now occupies the entire four-inch screen of the iPhone 5.
But iPhone 5 optimization is not the only feature delivered by PicFrame's 6.1 update.
It also adds four new frames, each of which contains a large rectangular block and eight equally sized square blocks.
In addition, the update ensures that sharing non-square PicFrame images to Instagram are padded to display the full PicFrame image.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 4.3 or later, PicFrame is available in the App Store for $0.99.
