Join The Noble Nutlings In Their Nutty And Speedy Quest
January 5, 2013
How many former Angry Birds developers does it take to create a game about racing nuts who also happen to be nuts about, well, nuts? Three, apparently, as evidenced by the upcoming game called Noble Nutlings.
Indeed, Noble Nutlings is developed by three Rovio defectors, namely, Tuomas Erikoinen, Antti Stén, and Ilkka Halila.
Erikoinen, Stén, and Halila worked in Rovio's graphics, cloud service, and programming departments, respectively. Now, the trio has formed a new studio called Boomlagoon.
And Boomlagoon's debut iOS game is none other than Noble Nutlings.
As it happens, Noble Nutlings also involves a trio. A trio of nut-loving squirrels, that is, after whom the game is named.

But Noble Nutlings is certainly no Angry Birds clone. I must say, though, that it has slight traces of Bad Piggies, Rovio's Angry Birds spin-off.
As in Bad Piggies, you'll be customizing vehicles in Noble Nutlings. But these vehicles are for adventure racing and nut collecting, rather than for egg stealing.
According to Boomlagoon, Noble Nutlings "has players piloting a rickety wooden cart through hilly terrain, trying to keep the trio of pudgy squirrels safely onboard. Vehicle customization and boosting at just the right moment are key to securing a three-star victory."
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, Noble Nutlings is set to crack its way toward the App Store on Thursday, Jan. 10. Make sure to check back here on AppAdvice for our full review of the game shortly after its release.
