Remote App Update Brings Improved Search Results And General Stability

January 30, 2013
One of Apple's most popular apps, Remote, has just been updated with a number of tweaks. Version 3.0.1 of the Remote app adds improvements for search results, rating songs, sorting podcasts, and general stability. While it only seems to be a minor update, I’m glad to see that Apple took the time to make the changes. The app was last updated in November when it received a major overhaul to mirror the desktop look of iTunes 11 and add better search functions along with the Up Next feature. Remote is pretty much my most-used app on a daily basis since I like using an iPad to control my Apple TV. But after the November update, it ran noticeably slower and seemed to have more issues. Hopefully, this update will help cure some of those problems. Remote is a universal app for both the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad. It can be downloaded in the App Store now for free. Apple has had a busy week on the update front. Just hours after releasing iOS 6.1 to the public on Monday, the Apple TV software was updated with Bluetooth keyboard support and other enhancements.
