Amazon Cloud Player Updated With Native iPad Support Plus New Interface

February 27, 2013
Amazon Cloud Player has finally landed as a native app on the iPad. Released on iOS in June last year as an app optimized for iPhone and iPod touch only, Amazon Cloud Player is now optimized for iPad as well. The now universal app features an interface that is consistent with the look and feel shared by at least two other major Amazon iOS apps, Kindle and Amazon Instant Video. Also, it introduces a new setting for managing the app's cache size. Amazon Cloud Player for iOS is, of course, the official iOS app of Amazon's digital music locker service, which was launched a couple of years ago. The app lets you listen to all of the music you've bought from Amazon right on your iDevice. This includes MP3s converted from any AutoRip CDs you've purchased from Amazon since 1998. Amazon Cloud Player also lets you play the music that's already on your device, even music downloaded from iCloud. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later, Amazon Cloud Player is available in the App Store for free. Last week, the official iOS apps of two Amazon-owned sites were also updated with major improvements. IMDb Movies & TV was updated with Amazon Instant Video integration and a special section for the recently concluded Oscars. And Audible for iOS was updated with a new design on top of its long-overdue universal support. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
