Seidio is joining the ever-growing line of case manufacturers with a waterproof, rugged option to protect the iPhone 5. During SXSW 2013 in Austin, Texas, Seidio is showing off its new OBEX case. Along with being certified to protect from dust and complete, continuous submersion in water of more than 6 feet, the case also passed numerous fall tests from 4-feet high at many angles. Available in black or white, another unique feature of the OBEX is its anti-reflective glass that covers the camera lens while maintaining photo quality. You can purchase the case now directly through Seidio for $79.95. For $10 more, you can snag a version with a holster. Waterproof iPhone 5 cases were a big trend at CES 2013 that wrapped up a little earlier this year in Las Vegas. Big-name manufacturers like OtterBox, Griffin Technology, and Incipio all introduced their own versions. LifeProof did a nice job pioneering the field, and also has its own solution for the handset. While OtterBox’s Armor Series was placed on sale late last month, we’re still waiting for both Incipio’s Atlas and Griffin’s Survivor + Catalyst to hit the market.
