You'll Definitely 'Like' The Latest Update To Popular YouTube Client Jasmine
March 24, 2013
The simple and slick iOS YouTube client Jasmine has just gained several improvements and fixes through its recent update.
One of the most notable among the new improvements to Jasmine is support for liking or disliking videos alongside the star rating.
Another notable improvement is the fact that links in descriptions are now tappable, as they should've been since the very beginning. Note, though, that tapped links are opened in Safari rather than in the in-app browser.
A couple of new enhancements in Jasmine have to do with how it interprets incoming links.
One, Jasmine automatically plays the corresponding video when it is launched with a YouTube link currently copied to your device's clipboard. And two, replacing "http://" with "jasmine://" in a YouTube link automatically launches Jasmine and plays the corresponding video in the app.
The latest update to Jasmine also includes a revised video loading animation and improved thumbnail performance for iPad 2 and iPad mini, along with the following fixes:
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, Jasmine is available in the App Store for free. Released in September last year shortly after the relaunch of the YouTube iOS app, Jasmine was named as one of AppAdvice's Top 10 Best Free iPhone Apps of 2012. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
