Chat Heads Make Their Way From Facebook Home To The iOS App

While it’s not exactly Facebook Home, the official iOS app of the social network has just been updated to version 6.0.
The update brings a bevy of new features for both iPhone and iPad users. Most importantly, chat heads make an appearance for the first time.
The feature does a nice job of more deeply integrating the messaging function. If you have the app open and receive a message, a chat head will automatically appear for immediate access to the conversation. You can also open a chat head yourself to start a conversation.
After downsizing the chat head, it can be moved to any corner of the app for quick retrieval, or completely removed.
There are also two new features for just the iPhone version of the app. Stickers, as the name suggests, allows you add some fun graphics to help liven up your Facebook messages. You can also explore new feeds like Music, Photos, and Games.
According to the release notes, both chat heads and stickers will be available to everyone over the next few weeks. Even so, after updating both my iPhone and iPad mini, I was able to take advantage of the new features.
And along with chat heads, the iPad version of Facebook sports a redesigned look. Stories now look much brighter and bolder in the News Feed.
Facebook is a universal app for both the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. It can be downloaded in the App Store now for free.
