Clear Browser Updated With Multi-Tab Support Plus Back And Forward Gestures
April 20, 2013
Clear Browser, the minimal full-screen browser that we here at AppAdvice declared App of the Week in November last year, has just received a new major update.
Nope, this isn't the big 2.0 update that Clear Browser developer Flyingcomma has been teasing since last November.
"The truth is we had not earned enough to dedicate all our resources to Clear Browser and had to switch to a different project to earn some revenue," says Flyingcomma. "Now that we can come back to working more on Clear Browser, we wanted to get a release to you as soon as possible first."
The new release brings support for back and forward gestures and, more important, support for multiple tabs.
To take advantage of the new couple of gestures, just swipe from the left edge to the right edge of the screen to move back one page and vice versa to move forward.
As for the app's newly added support for multiple tabs, just bring up the hidden menu and tap the new multi-tab button to access up to eight available slots for tabs.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, the newly updated Clear Browser is available in the App Store for free.
According to Flyingcomma, Clear Browser is set to get the following improvements in upcoming releases: a way to open links in one tab in a new tab, an overhaul of the settings page, smoother animations and menu transitions, and more sensible gestures for the iPad.
