Pinterest Pins Down Push Notifications And More With An Update

May 14, 2013
Pinterest’s official iOS app has just been updated to add some nice new features. Probably the biggest improvement in version 2.4 of the social networking app is the ability for iPhone users to send a pin directly to someone else. If you haven’t heard about Pinterest, the service allows users to share information they’ve found on the Web by “pinning” it to their profile. Also, the update adds push notifications. Users can be notified when someone comments, likes, or repins their information. The search feature in the app has also been bulked up as users will be presented with suggestions when searching around the network. Finally, it is now possible for users to pin from the Web and mention their friends in the comments. Pinterest is a universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. It can be downloaded in the App Store now for free. While the iPhone version has been in the App Store for almost two years, the app became universal last year thanks to a major update. We liked it so much that it was named our AppAdvice App of the Week shortly after its release. An update in March brought the ability to edit profiles along with a number of other UI enhancements.
