Popular Handwriting App Penultimate Updated With More Evernote Features

May 2, 2013
Penultimate, the seminal handwriting app acquired by Evernote a year ago, has received yet another significant update. Much like the previous 4.0 update, this new 4.1 update is focused on the app's integration with Evernote's key services. Penultimate 4.0, which was released in late January, introduced full Evernote sync, handwriting search with Evernote, and saving of all notes to Evernote. This time, Penultimate 4.1 introduces more Evernote-integrated features, some of which are free while others are available at a premium. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. For starters, Penultimate now suggests notebook titles based on your location and calendar events. It now also displays notebook covers based on where you left off the last time you were editing the notebooks. Moreover, you can now pause the app's syncing with Evernote and choose to sync only when on a Wi-Fi network. And if you're using a shared iPad, Penultimate's new sign out option is highly recommended. This lets you sign out of the app and let other users sign in with their own accounts. Finally, Penultimate 4.1 introduces two new features available only to Evernote Premium subscribers: unlimited access to paper designs in the Paper Shop and enhanced security with Passcode Lock. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.1 or later, Penultimate 4.1 is available now in the App Store for free. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
