Rdio Updates Mac App To Add Brand New In-App Music Player

Rdio, the popular music streaming service, has updated its Mac app to add a brand new player, which takes inspiration from changes made in April to the free iOS application. At the moment, the revamped Mac application can be downloaded free of charge, though potential users should note that the app can only be accessed from Rdio's website, rather than from within the Mac App Store.
In the updated Mac app's "Now Playing" view, album art is much bigger and takes center stage, with the background image showing a blurred, out of focus image also taken from the playing track's album artwork. As you can see in the above image, a list of album tracks (or playlist tracks) will also show in this screen, and users can access queued music easily.
Besides the Mac application, Rdio also offers a free Web player, and a free Windows application. All are available to download or access from Rdio's website, along with the updated version of Rdio for Mac.
Rdio for iOS, however, can be downloaded from within the App Store itself.
