Tempo Gets Smarter With Event Sharing, Gmail App Integration And More

A month after opening its virtual doors to everyone, Tempo has received another significant update. Developed at SRI International, the nonprofit research institute where Siri was created, Tempo is a smart calendar app optimized for iPhone and iPod touch. And just like Siri, Tempo is intelligent — intelligent in that it's able to enhance your meetings and events by connecting emails, contacts, and location data to your calendar. And it has just become even more intelligent with the arrival of its latest update. The new update adds the ability to invite and add attendees to meetings and events. Now you can invite attendees by accessing your contacts and emails or by adding new contacts right within Tempo. What's more, Tempo suggests other probable attendees after you've sent your invites. The update also brings support for sharing or forwarding your events. Note that the people you share or forward events to are not added as attendees. Also, it lets you set the Gmail iOS app as your preferred email sending method, instead of the default iOS Mail client. The new Tempo update also includes the following improvements:

Dots on Monthly view properly refresh

Fix for downloading Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint documents

Color codes for calendar types properly display

Declined events are no longer displayed, including Facebook events
