Could Apple be planning on bringing a bit of bling to its future iPhones? According to the Japanese publication Mac o Takara, a gold smartphone may indeed be in the cards for Apple, who is expected to launch a revamped iPhone handset later this year, alongside its next-generation iPad models. While little is known about precisely what the seventh-generation iPhone might bring, Mac o Takara asserts that a reliable "source" has informed the publication that the forthcoming handset will indeed be available in gold. This isn't the first time we've heard rumors concerning a gold iPhone. Months following a similar report from Moumantai, the images of a gold-colored iPhone SIM card tray and volume buttons surfaced online. Of course, we'll know nothing for certain until Apple announces the next-generation iPhone on stage, presumably in fall.
