Digg Reader Launches On iOS: Will You Dig It As Your Google Reader Replacement?

As expected, Digg has today released the iOS version of Digg Reader, which it launched on the Web in closed beta yesterday. Instead of being a new standalone app, Digg Reader is made available as a new feature in the existing Digg app for iOS, which has just received its 5.0 update.
Digg 5.0 introduces Digg Reader to your iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
Digg Reader is developed mainly as a replacement of Google Reader, which is set to be shut down on Monday, July 1. As such, it lets you easily import all of your Google Reader feeds and folders into your Digg account. Just select the Import Google Reader option in the app's sidebar to do so.
Of course, even if you're not a Google Reader refugee, you're free to dig into Digg Reader to subscribe to and read the latest articles from your favorite sites using Digg's clean reading experience.
Digg Reader is now available in Digg 5.0, which in turn is now available in the App Store for free. Digg 5.0 is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later.

Before we get too impressed with ourselves, we want to reiterate that this is very much a beta release. Our focus over the past 3 months has been to build a simple, clean, fast, uncluttered reading experience. We will be working intensively in the coming months to build out all the remaining features and capabilities on our to-do list.
