Use Sphero To Mow Down Zombies In The Rolling Dead

First previewed all the way back in January at CES 2013, Orbotix has just introduced a new augmented reality game to play with its Sphero robotic ball.
As the name suggests, The Rolling Dead is chocked full of zombie goodness. Just like my all-time favorite Sphero app, Sharky the Beaver, players place Sphero in an open space. Then using the camera on your iOS device, the zombies begin to spawn from the ground and appear on the screen.
But Sphero will save the day. The robotic ball is transformed into a fireball-shooting warrior that is trained to destroy as many undead as possible with a storm of fire.
And by simply driving the ball around, players can gain ammo. One great looking power-up turns Sphero into a flaming ball to destroy as many zombies as possible.
The Rolling Dead is available to download now in the App Store for free. There are two separate versions of the app for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini.
You must have a Sphero to use the app. The ball can be ordered for $99.99 directly from the company.
We reviewed Sphero earlier this year. It still remains one of my favorite iOS accessories, and I’m thrilled to see Orbotix come up with fun and creative new apps to take advantage of the ball’s potential.
