YouTube Update Adds Video Overlays That Recommend What To Watch Next

Google has just updated its popular YouTube app to add a couple of new features.
The biggest improvement in version 1.4 of the app is the addition of video suggestion overlays. While watching a video, the service will recommend something else to watch.
And along with the usual number of stability improvements, including a fix for application crashes, the update brings closed captions to live video streams.
YouTube is a universal app for both the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. It can be downloaded now in the App Store for free.
The app’s last notable update before today was in mid-April. That version added support for live streams along with quick access to new uploads from channel subscriptions.
Google has done a great job of offering quick updates to the app. That’s definitely a big change from when YouTube was included as a stock app with iOS devices.
