Hit The Sand And Bask In The Sun With Angry Birds Rio's New Summer Update
July 25, 2013
Rovio is inviting you to hit the sand and bask in the sun with the timely arrival of its new summer update for Angry Birds Rio.
With this new update, the popular fowl-slinging, pig-popping game based on the hit animated film "Rio" has gained a hot new episode called Golden Beachball.
In this new episode, you can enjoy the sunset while knocking over mayhem-making marmosets in 15 new beach levels. You can also unlock bonus levels by collecting all of the golden cherries.
According to its release notes, the new Angry Birds Rio update also offers "fun surprises including floating pig balloons and inflatable fish pool toys!"
The new versions of Angry Birds Rio for iPhone and Angry Birds Rio HD for iPad are available now in the App Store.
Since last January, both editions of Angry Birds Rio have been downloadable for free. They do, however, offer in-app purchases for various power-ups, which were introduced to the game through it's samba update in December last year.
In other Angry Birds-related news, just a few days ago, Rovio issued a major update to its "piggest" Angry Birds spinoff game, Bad Piggies. And a couple of weeks ago, it announced the sequel to its other movie-based Angry Birds game, Angry Birds Star Wars.
