Rovio has officially announced Angry Birds Star Wars II. The game, which was first rumored a week ago, launches on Sept. 19. Angry Birds Star Wars II features 30 characters, and for the first time, you can choose to “Join the Pork Side” and play as one of the villainous pigs. Additionally, the game works with Hasbro’s new Telepods technology, which brings physical characters for kids into digital gaming. According to a blog post, Rovio “will not comment on rumors or speculation that Jar Jar Binks will be in the game.” Take a look: As Aldrin Calimlin first noted, Angry Birds Star Wars for iPhone and Angry Birds Star Wars HD for iPad are currently available for free as part of Apple’s App Store App of the Week promotion. They’re normally priced at $0.99 and $2.99, respectively. This isn't the only new Angry Birds game coming. A month ago, Rovio released a teaser for Angry Birds Go!, which may turn out to be either a racing game or an endless running game. We'll continue to follow this story.
