Modern Mobile Email App Evomail Updated With Unified Inbox, IMAP Support And More

August 4, 2013
Evomail's rate of evolution, so to speak, has been quite impressive of late. A little over a couple of weeks ago, Evomail was updated with support for message snoozing, Dropbox and Box attachments, and Yahoo and iCloud accounts. Then, just a week after that, the app was updated with a number of new, useful settings. And now, Evomail has received another update that's worthy of note. For starters, the latest update to the modern mobile email app adds a unified inbox where you can conveniently see all of your messages from all of your accounts. And after gaining support for Yahoo and iCloud in addition to Gmail, Evomail has now also gained support for IMAP. Just tap the "Other/IMAP" option when adding a new account, enter your account details, including the IMAP and SMTP servers, and you're good to go. The new update also makes switching accounts while composing a new message easier. Just tap the tab at the top of the screen and tap the "From" line to select your preferred account to send your new message from. In addition, the update includes support for local address book avatars and general stability improvements. Note, though, that it also removes the ability to publicly share an email via Twitter, Facebook, text message, and other sharing channels. According to the Evomail team, this move has been done "to make way for some exciting new things." The new version of Evomail is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later.
