Cases For The iPhone 5C And iPhone 5S Make An Early Appearance

If you haven’t already, it’s time to mark your calendars for Friday, Sept. 20. Earlier this morning, Twitter account @Evleaks unveiled photos of two iPhone 5C cases from Case Mate complete with a very specific shipping estimate of 8 a.m. ET that day.
The case pictured above looks to be a folio/wallet style while the other image shows a more protective option.
It will be interesting to see how case makers market their options for the more affordable iPhone. With the expected number of colorful handset choices, will buyers still want to purchase cases?
As we pointed out late last month, the iPhone 5C’s plastic outer shell passed a durability test with flying colors.
And 9to5Mac also posted an image of an apparent iPhone 5S case from SwitchEasy. Since the higher-end handset is expected to keep the same form factor, many current cases for the iPhone 5 should work just fine.
The one big exception, though, has to do with rugged case options. If the iPhone 5S does contain the rumored fingerprint sensor under the home button, many selections from OtterBox, Lifeproof, and others, will have to be completely redesigned.
Both handsets will be unveiled at an event on Tuesday, Sept. 10. AppAdvice will cover the event live. And we’ll also make sure to bring you all the latest case choices for both the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C.
