Foodspotting 5.0 Is Designed With Mouthwatering Goodness For iOS 7

September 21, 2013
Foodspotting, the popular food guide app owned by OpenTable, has just been updated to version 5.0. Foodspotting 5.0 comes just under three months after the arrive of Foodspotting 4.0, which introduced the long-awaited Food Camera. More importantly, it comes around the same time as the launch of iOS 7. Small wonder then that Foodspotting 5.0 introduces a new design that looks quite yummy on the newly released operating system. And with this redesign comes a streamlined approach to the app's key purpose of food-finding:
  • Filters & Places Find dishes by place or by category using our new smart search. Look for new categories like “Find dishes at places you can reserve (on OpenTable).”
  • Location & Map Find dishes anywhere in the world by tapping the green bar and setting your location. You can enter a city or address, or pan and zoom the map.
  • About This Dish & About This Place Scroll left and right to discover great dishes. If a dish piques your interest, simply scroll down to learn how to obtain it.
  • Explore and Activity Toggle between discovering nearby dishes and discovering dishes from friends with one tap (upper left), and we'll remember which you last used.
Note, though, that Foodspotting's Guides and Hide features have been removed to make the redesign possible. Foodspotting 5.0 is available now in the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 7.0 or later. The newly updated Foodspotting is included in Apple's new "Designed for iOS 7" section in the App Store.
