GetGlue Unveils Revamped iPhone App With New What To Watch Guide And More

September 5, 2013
Just in time for the start of the fall TV season, GetGlue’s iPhone app has been updated to version 5.0 to add a wealth of improvements. Most importantly, the new version features a What to Watch Guide that covers what’s on TV right now, shows and movies available through streaming media, and new movies in theaters. DirecTV subscribers can also connect their box and change the channel directly from the app. Also, the update includes a new Search and Discover section that allows viewers to indulge their TV mood. Users can browse by genre or pick from fun lists curated by GetGlue. The updated pages for TV shows include Summary, Feed, and Watch tabs. The pages now also sport more information about the show, including upcoming episode air dates and the newest episodes available on streaming services. Finally, users can now add memes, gifs, and videos to their comments about a show. GetGlue is designed for the iPhone/iPod touch. It can be downloaded now in the App Store for free. There is also a separate iPad edition, GetGlue for iPad, which is also available in the App Store. It was most recently updated all the way back in August 2012.
