Microsoft's Photosynth Panorama Creation App Finally Goes Social On iOS

September 25, 2013
Almost two and a half years after its release on iOS, Microsoft's popular panorama creation app has finally gone social. Through its first update since last November, Photosynth for iOS has finally gained social features. With these features, you can share your panoramas with the Photosynth community and get likes, comments, and follows for them. Who knows? You might also see your panoramas featured by Photosynth and on Bing, Microsoft's search engine whose background image changes daily. The newly updated Photosynth lets you:
  • Search and explore panoramas from the Photosynth community to discover new amazing interactive images
  • Like, share, and comment on the creations of other photo enthusiasts
  • Build a personal newsfeed by following your favorite content creators and popular topics
  • Jump-start your newsfeed by following recommended users and tags
  • Get notified when your panoramas are liked or commented on, when you are followed, or when Photosynth has featured one of your creations
The new version of Photosynth is available now in the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 5.0 or later. In addition to its new social features, Photosynth has also been updated with support for the spherical image creation device Ricoh Theta. This enables you to easily capture and share a full 360-degree panorama. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
