The bird-flinging and pig-popping fun continues in outer space with a newly released update to Angry Birds Space. This time, the Space Birds find themselves in a strange part of the galaxy thanks to Angry Birds Space's Cosmic Crystals update. With this update, you're set to encounter exploding crystal planets, greedy treasure-hunting piggies, and — brace yourself — a crazy mutant Space Pig. Angry Birds Space's new Cosmic Crystals update features the following:

This new update to Angry Birds Space is part of Rovio's week-long countdown to the launch of Angry Birds Star Wars II, which is set for Sept. 19. The countdown commenced yesterday with the arrival of a new update to Angry Birds Star Wars.
