In the United States, iPhone users will be able to pick up a Pebble smart watch for $150 from carrier AT&T, in an exclusive deal starting this Friday, Sept. 27.
The popular smart watch will be available both online, at AT&T's website, and in select retail locations nationwide. As such, AT&T will be the only U.S. carrier offering Pebble, which provides smartphone notifications "at the wrist" using Bluetooth technology and works perfectly with Apple's iPhone.
Michael Cowan, Accessory Portfolio director for AT&T Mobility, said in a press release:
As the exclusive carrier for the hot new Pebble smart watch, this innovative device adds to AT&T’s extensive lineup of industry leading accessories for today’s connected world. This smart watch is fun, practical, and easy to use. It is simple to see why people have been clamoring to get their hands on it.As a reminder, Pebble launched following a hugely successful Kickstarter campaign, and is available to preorder online. Earlier this month, AppAdvice went hands-on with Pebble, and found the smart watch to compliment Apple's iPhone well. Though we explained in our article that preorders for Pebble are likely to take a long time to fulfil, folks in the United States now have the option - once again - of jumping the preorder queue, and picking up the smart watch online or in-store through AT&T. As mentioned, AT&T will be offering Pebbles for $150 starting Friday, Sept. 27.
