Belkin’s new Express Dock is designed to hold any Lightning-enabled iOS device, with or without a case.
Thanks to an adjustable dial integrated into the back of the dock, users can raise or lower the Lightning connector so it will work with a wide variety of case sizes and styles. It also comes complete with a built-in, 4-foot USB cable for charging and syncing.
“When it comes to docks, we found that people’s most common complaint when docking their tablet or phone is that they have to take off the case,” said Marco Peters, senior director of product management at Belkin. “Our Express Dock eliminates that problem, making it easier to charge and sync your device in a variety of cases.”Here’s a quick video about the dock. Click here if you can’t see it. The Express Dock retails for $59.99 and can be purchased now directly from Belkin’s site. Belkin’s docking solution definitely looks to be an interesting choice. This is the first dock I’ve seen that is designed to work with all iOS devices with a Lightning connector. While I’m still a big fan of the HiRise from Twelve South that features many of the same adjustable qualities, the Express Dock does come included with its own cable while the HiRise doesn’t.
