Blur 2.0 Lets You Create Custom Wallpapers From Beautiful Flickr Photos
October 9, 2013
Blur has just been updated to version 2.0, five months after its release on iOS.
Blur does exactly what its name says it does: it blurs. Specifically, it blurs photos so that they may be used as custom wallpapers in the style of iOS 7:
Maximize every pixel of your retina display with Blur, a fun new app that transforms ordinary pictures into stunning backgrounds. Just slide your finger across any picture to get the perfect Blur, set it as your wallpaper, and make your device look better than ever! The interface itself of Blur is dead simple. Just tap the photo button to take a new photo or load an existing one. Then move the slider to adjust the blur effect for your selected photo. Once you're satisfied with how blurred your creation looks, tap the check button to save it to your iDevice's photo library. Notice, though, that there's also a big button in the middle, which bears the Blur logo. Well, following the app's 2.0 update. this button can now be tapped to load a random yet beautiful photo. This new feature is powered by Flickr, the Yahoo-owned photo-sharing service that's also the source of the beautiful pictures featured in the Yahoo Weather and Yahoo Mail apps for iOS. To see the original photo on the Flickr site, just move the slider to the lowest blur setting and tap the source link at the bottom. Also including some bug fixes, Blur 2.0 is available now in the App Store as a free update or as a new $0.99 download. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.1 or later. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
