Get ready to go retro! Because DotEmu, developer of several popular retro games for iOS, has confirmed that it's set to bring a trilogy of Double Dragon games - that is, Double Dragon, Double Dragon 2: The Revenge, and Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone - to Apple's App Store.
The news comes from TouchArcade, which explains that the three games will be available within one single application, called Double Dragon Trilogy.
Though no firm release date has yet been announced, a small amount of information concerning the forthcoming title is known. As the website explains:
The games will feature an "Arcade" mode where you're tasked with completing the game from beginning to end in one shot, or a "Story" mode where you can unlock each stage as you complete it. There will also be three difficulty modes: one tailored specifically for smartphones, the original arcade difficulty, and a new "expert" mode.Further features are said to include Game Center support, iOS 7 controller integration (once the accessories launch), a local co-op mode using Bluetooth to connect iDevices, and a choice between the games' original soundtracks, or remastered iterations. Below, we've included a trailer of Double Dragon Trilogy, which surfaced online recently. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVjIpn-iAjw&feature=player_embedded#at=21
