Free-To-Play Brawler Batman: Arkham Origins Hits iOS Ahead Of Console Version's Launch

October 17, 2013
Last Saturday, we told you about the launch of Batman: Arkham Origins as a free-to-play brawler on iOS. The game was set to be launched in the launch window of its console version, which is scheduled to be released on Friday, Oct. 25. As it turns out, said launch window is quite a wide one, as Batman: Arkham Origins has already hit the App Store today. In Batman: Arkham Origins, you play as a younger and less refined Batman, which is only to be expected, seeing as the new game serves as a prequel to the previous Arkham titles. In the game, you have to face off against a group of deadly assassins and their thugs, who are acting primarily to get ahold of the bounty placed on the Dark Knight's head by crime lord Black Mask. As a free-to-play title, Batman: Arkham Origins offers various opportunities for earning in-game currency and unlocking additional content, including special Batsuit skins. It also lets you access exclusive content by connecting the mobile game to its console version using the same WBID. Batsuit skins exclusive to the mobile game include JSA Liberty Files Batman and Batman Beyond. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later, Batman: Arkham Origins is available now in the App Store for free. Batman: Arkham Origins is developed for Warner Bros. by NetherRealm Studios, which is also behind the mobile versions of Batman: Arkham City Lockdown and Injustice: Gods Among Us.
