Hulu Plus App For iOS Updated With Support For Google Chromecast On iPad

October 2, 2013
Hulu Plus, the official iOS app of the popular Hulu on-demand video streaming service, has just been updated to support Chromecast on iPad. Chromecast is a digital media streaming dongle developed by Google. The device was launched last July by the tech giant with support for YouTube and Netflix mirroring via tab casting (i.e., streaming the content of a Chrome browser tab to a television) and the services' official iOS apps. Now, Chromecast's iOS app support has extended to Hulu Plus for iPad. Google notes in a new blog post:
Hulu has added Chromecast support to their Hulu Plus app—just in time for the fall television season. Now you can easily enjoy your favorite shows, such as “Modern Family,” “New Girl” and “Parks and Recreation,” on your big-screen TV by casting from Hulu Plus on your mobile phone or tablet. It’s the same intuitive, remote-free experience you’ve come to enjoy with the other Chromecast-supported apps, and is as simple as pressing the Cast button which will now appear in the app.

With the newly updated Hulu Plus app, you can now tap the Cast button to easily "cast" your favorite TV shows and movies on Chromecast from your iPad. Also including some bug fixes, the new version of Hulu Plus is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later. Note, though, that Hulu Plus' Chromecast integration is initially supported on iPad only and is coming soon to iPhone and iPod touch.
