Queen Games has been busy indeed. Besides launching an iOS port of Alhambra in the App Store earlier, the developer has also updated its popular Kingdom Builder adding support for the iPhone at long last. Optimized for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, then, the app can be downloaded for $4.99. Of course, iPhone support is a great and much-appreciated addition to the application, which won the 2012 Spiel des Jahres ("Game of the Year") award in Germany. However, this isn't the only change to have reached Kingdom Builder. Besides going universal, the game now also supports Apple's Retina display, and the option of playing in three different zoom positions has been added. Kingdom Builder gamers can also play in both landscape and portrait, too, thanks to the application's most recent update. Concerning Queen Games' Alhambra port for iOS, we explained earlier today:
One recent addition to the App Store, Alhambra Game, sends iDevice users back to the 13th century and charges them with the task of constructing the Alhambra in Granada, Spain. Available in the App Store for $4.99 and optimized for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch (though the game is perhaps best suited to the larger screens of Apple’s iPads), Alhambra Game is actually a port of an original title called Alhambra, winner of the 2003 Spiel des Jahres – “Game of the Year” – award in Germany. As a reminder, Alhambra Game can be downloaded for $4.99. The recently updated Kingdom Builder also carries a price tag of $4.99, and is optimized for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
