The M7-Powered Fitly App Gamifies Motion-Tracking To Make Staying Fit Fun

October 20, 2013
If you want to stay fit in a fun way that requires little more than an iPhone 5s, then the new Fitly app may very well be the perfect fit for you. Taking into account the number of steps you take as a key indicator of your activity, Fitly motivates you to work up to 10,000 steps per day. With its iOS 7-ready interface, Fitly displays your progress on a scale of 0 to 10, with 10 corresponding to your daily goal of 10,000 steps. As for its fun factor, the app uses Game Center to spur you on with leaderboards, achievements, and challenges from friends. And because it takes advantage of Apple's M7 motion coprocessor, Fitly is able to keep track of your activity without draining your battery and without having to tell it whether you're walking or running. It's also for this reason that Fitly works only on the iPhone 5s, which is currently the only iDevice to have the M7 motion coprocessor. Fitly is available now in the App Store for free.
