Google’s Gmail app for iOS devices has just been updated with an iOS 7 inspired design along with some other major new features for the iPad version.
First up, all users will definitely notice the visual update that better matches iOS 7.
While iPhone users will have to be content with the UI changes, the iPad version of the app now sports four additional features.
The new navigation bar allows users to switch between categories and accounts in landscape mode, which is a very welcomed addition.
And along with the ability to compose new messages in a fullscreen mode, users can now view messages in full screen while in portrait mode.
The update also offers better scrolling capability for the iPad and iPad mini.
A universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini, Gmail can be downloaded now in the App Store for free.
Before today’s update, the last major revision to Gmail came back in late August. Version 2.4 ushered in a fullscreen attachment view and better integration with other Google apps.
