Smart Calendar App Fantastical 2 Gets Even Smarter With First Ever Update
November 18, 2013
Just less than three weeks after its successful launch, Fantastical 2 has received its first update, which brings a number of improvements and fixes.
First off, notifications in the highly anticipated iOS 7 revision of the popular smart calendar app now have sounds. And speaking of notifications, there are three new app icon badge options: Today's Remaining Events, Today's Due Reminders, and All Incomplete Reminders. Of course, you can still set the app icon badge to indicate the number of Today's Remaining Items or the Current Date.
Another improvement brought about by the update is the implementation of a call button in an event location field that contains a phone number, which makes for quicker placing of calls.
Yet another is the ability to double-tap a date picker to switch between one-minute and five-minute intervals.
In addition, the update delivers some parser improvements, performance improvements for iPhone 4, and an updated time zone database. It also adds support for reminder and due parameters in Fantastical 2's URL scheme, e.g., fantastical2://parse?sentence=Buy%20milk&reminder=1&due=yyyy-MM-dd%20HH:mm
