Warner Bros. Brings LEGO The Lord Of The Rings To Apple's iOS

Warner Bros. has just launched a brand new game in the App Store that takes the original storyline of "The Lord of the Rings" and adds a dash of LEGO. The application, LEGO The Lord of the Rings, is the latest in Warner Bros.'s LEGO iOS games, and can be downloaded now for $4.99.
Based on the film trilogy (which itself is of course based on the original novels by J.R.R. Tolkien), LEGO The Lord of the Rings allows iDevice users to join a fellowship, battle orcs, transverse across Middle Earth, and - hopefully - reach Mount Doom.
The game features more than 90 playable characters - both good and bad - and countless weapons and magical items can be found, equipped, and used in battle.
Gamers have the option of playing using either a dual-stick control setup or touchscreen controls, and Game Center support allows users to earn achievements while playing through the application.
As outlined in the app's release notes:
Follow the epic storylines of the original The Lord of the Rings trilogy reimagined with the humor and endless variety of LEGO gameplay. Relive the legend of The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King through LEGO minifigures, as they explore wonders and solve timeless riddles. Orcs and fouler things await on this perilous path to Mount Doom but a Fellowship will be formed — Aragorn the Ranger, Gandalf the Wizard, Legolas the Elf, Gimli the Dwarf, Boromir Man of Gondor, and Frodo’s Hobbit friends Sam, Merry and Pippin all join in to help along the quest to destroy the Ring and return peace to the land.Further features of the game include:
If you're planning on downloading LEGO The Lord of the Rings, however, do note that an over-the-air download is expected to require around 3GB of free space on your iDevice. Installing the game using iTunes, though, requires just 1.5GB of free space. LEGO The Lord of the Rings can be downloaded in the App Store for $4.99, and is optimized for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
