Apple Updates Remote App With Support For Controlling iTunes Radio On Mac Or PC

December 13, 2013
Apple has just issued an update to Remote, the universal iOS app that allows for remote control of a linked iTunes library over Wi-Fi. This new update is a rather small one, to be sure, but it's significant in that it adds support for controlling iTunes Radio on a linked computer. Previously, Remote enabled you to control only the local content of your Mac or PC's iTunes library along with the third-party radio stations in Internet Radio. But with its latest update, which brings it to version 4.1, Remote now also enables you to control iTunes Radio on your Mac or PC. Specifically, it now lets you play Featured Stations and My Stations on iTunes Radio. Just go to the Radio tab, which is the very first one on the bottom menu, in the Remote app to activate remote-controlled iTunes Radio on your computer. Remote 4.1 is available now in the App Store for free. It's compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later. Remote was updated to version 4.0 last month with a completely new design for iOS 7 and support for iTunes 11.1.
