Plinth Is An iPad Stand You Can Take With You Wherever You Go
There are plenty of iPad stands on the market, but none have been portable enough to carry around in a pocket. Until now, that is. Because one new Kickstarter project advertises a stand that promises just this. Called Plinth and created by John Bull, the super-portable product offers stable support for a tablet, book, or anything you’d like to prop-up, and it can fold flat into a small, card-like item.
You can support the Kickstarter project to receive a Plinth of your own from £10 ($16.48), and from what we can see, the idea itself is great. Plinth will fold entirely flat for easy transportation or storage, but upon pressing a button, the product flips out into a stand for your tablet computer.
It can offer secure support for a 9.7-inch iPad, an iPad mini, or another tablet; John Bull also notes that books can be propped-up using the stand, too, and adds that Plinth can be used on the train or on a sofa, as well as at a desk.
There are multiple viewing angles offered by Plinth, making it easy for users either to type with their iPad or to support it at a “cinema display” angle; when you’re finished with the stand, its spring-loaded design means you’ll be able to flatten it back together again.
The aim is to get Plinth shipping to qualifying Kickstarter backers from April 2014, and as mentioned above, a pledge of £10 ($16.48) or more will get you a stand of your own (provided the product reaches its funding goal of £20,000). Plus, you’ll need to add £5 ($8.24) to have the stand ship outside of Britain.
Interested? If so, head over to Plinth’s Kickstarter Web page and take a closer look at the stand yourself.
