Readmill E-Reading App Gets Even More Social With New Activity Feed

December 10, 2013
Readmill, hands down my favorite iOS e-reading app, just keeps getting better and better. Just over a month ago, Readmill was updated with support for in-book community highlights. Now, the app, in its ongoing mission to turn the solitary vice of reading into a more social undertaking, has been updated with a new activity feed. "While our community highlights view makes for an instant book club in every book," notes the Readmill team, "your feed is a library reading room, where you can peek over the shoulders of friends and catch glimpses of books you wouldn’t find otherwise." Previously, the feed is viewable on the Readmill website only. But now, it's viewable on the Readmill app itself. Visit the new feed tab in the app to see the latest highlights, reviews, and discussions from friends, authors, and readers you follow. You can add more people to your feed right from the Readmill app by finding your Facebook and Twitter friends, inviting friends by email, following suggested users, or searching for users by name, email, or description. Aside from the new feed, the latest update to Readmill introduces in-book text search (finally), includes reading time in the profile section, and adds support for sharing via Tumblr and WhatsApp. Also including some bug fixes, the new version of Readmill is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later.
