Smart Sketching App Concepts Gains Stylus Support, Multiple Movable Images And More

December 22, 2013
Ah, Concepts. It's the smart sketching iPad app that's keeps on giving. Released in October last year, Concepts was updated to version 2.0 last September with support for snap-to layout, gallery stacks, a straight line tool, and other enhancements. Then, late last month, it was updated to version 2.1 with a new Strokes layer system along with a few extras. Now, Concepts has gone 2.2 with another round of notable improvements. First off, Concepts 2.2 introduces pressure-sensitive stylus support. Specifically, it adds support for the Wacom Intuos Creative Stylus, the Ten One Design Pogo Connect, and the Adonit Jot series. Concept 2.2 also adds support for multiple movable images. Concepts developer TopHatch explains:
Now that the Strokes panel exists to organize your project and give fine-grained control over strokes and text, it's the perfect time to add support for Multiple (Movable) Images. Create artboards and collections, add silhouettes over sketches, dial down opacity and trace over the top, or leverage Stroke Groups to mask and manipulate to your heart’s content.
The new version of Concepts also brings zoomable grids. Now, the dot grid, the graph papers, and the isometric grid scale when you zoom. In addition, you can now tap and hold on any stroke, image, or text to instantly select it, thereby minimizing disruptions in your creative flow. Concepts 2.2 also lets you adjust the opacity from the Tools menu and adds pull tabs to the toolbar for easier grabbing. Also including some crash and usability fixes, Concepts 2.2 is available now in the App Store for free. It's compatible with iPad running iOS 5.0 or later. Concepts has been honored by Apple as one of the App Store's Best of 2013. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
