The name Razer should be more than familiar to anyone who has ever spent time PC gaming.
But the accessory maker continues to branch out, taking time at CES 2014 in Las Vegas to unveil its Nabu “smart band” the marries functionality of a fitness tracker and smart watch into one package.
Our own Dom Esposito got a look at the Nabu during the show.
Easily the standout feature of the Nabu is its two small OLED screens. A small “public” icon screen is on the top of the tracker that displays the nature of the notification.
Turning your wrist reveals the larger “private” screen that shows the exact notification – like the email message or text.
For an added dose of customization, users can specify notifications by type, time, and location. For example, you can choose to only receive email notifications while at work or during certain hours of the day.
The Nabu can even be programmed to recognize specific gestures like enabling sleep mode with just a finger snap.
It also features all of the normal bells and whistles of a fitness device, including the ability to keep track of steps walked and more.
You can find out more about the Nabu on Razer’s site now. Final pricing and availability weren’t announced. But the company did mention the final product should clock in at under $100.
Developers can sign up and receive the band for just $50 sometime during the first quarter of this year.
