Kennedy Life-Logging App Now Supports Automatic Data Backup Via Dropbox
January 10, 2014
Kennedy, the life-logging app that lets you capture the now and the where-you-were, has received yet another notable update.
Released just three weeks ago, Kennedy received its first update last week, which added Foursquare integration and news feed customization. This week, the app has been updated with another major feature in the form of automatic data backup.
In his original review of the app here on AppAdvice, my colleague Daniel noted:
While some type of automatic backup or sync would be preferred, at least there is a way to get your data out of the app. This can be done by tapping the up arrow above the NOW button, which will present the option to export a JSON or CSV file with all of your info.Well, thanks to its new update, Kennedy now supports automatic backup via Dropbox. To enable automatic backup, tap the settings button in Kennedy's home screen and tap "Link to Dropbox." The Dropbox app will open to ask for permission to link Kennedy to your Dropbox account. Tap "Allow" to grant the requested permission and be redirected back to Kennedy. Kennedy will then automatically back up your data, including images, every time you add or edit a capture. Should you ever need to restore your lost data, you can tap "Import from backup" in the settings section of Kennedy to load the latest backup and import any missing captures. The latest update to Kennedy also brings a bug fix for the 12-hour clock along with various performance improvements. The new version of Kennedy is available now in the App Store as a free update or as a new $1.99 download. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 7.0 or later.
