Video Sharing Social Network Vine Climbs Onto The Web

January 3, 2014
Much like competitor Instagram, Vine has just unveiled a Web interface for users to interact with the service. Surf on over to vine.co to view your home feed. You can like, comment, and share just like on the iPhone app. Web users can also visit favorite Vine users’ profiles and browse their videos. Your own profile can also be shared with others. Exclusive to the Web version is the new TV mode. After clicking on the TV mode button in the upper right corner of your feed or any profile, the collection of videos can be viewed in sequence and in full screen mode. Designed for the iPhone/iPod touch, Vine can be downloaded now in the App Store for free. Back in December, the Twitter-owned property allowed users of the social network to register for vanity profile URLs. Launching almost a year ago, Vine allows users to share short six-second clips with other users. While it quickly gained popularity, it has struggled somewhat, especially after Instagram added a similar capability. Vine was also named as one of our Top 10 Best Free iPhone Apps of 2013.
