Apple Publishes Localized 'Mac 30' Mini-Sites For Select Asian Countries

February 15, 2014

Today, Apple has rolled out localized, translated versions of its “Mac 30” mini-site for a handful of Asian countries including Japan, China, and South Korea.

The company’s mini-site first launched for English language countries towards the end of last month, and celebrated the 30th anniversary of Apple’s Mac computer. Besides featuring a section of text from Apple acknowledging the important milestone, the mini-site also included a video interviewing professionals who’ve long used a Mac computer – titled “Thirty Years of Innovation” – and featured an interactive Mac timeline, too.

Apple explained at its English language mini-site:

Thirty years ago, Apple introduced the Macintosh with the promise to put the creative power of technology in everyone’s hands. It launched a generation of innovators who continue to change the world. This 30‑year timeline celebrates some of those pioneers and the profound impact they’ve made.

Now, the Mac 30 mini-site has been translated in its entirety for a handful of Asian countries. Besides translating the written content and its Mac timeline, Apple has also provided subtitles for the Thirty Years of Innovation Video.

So far, it seems localized mini-sites are available for Japan, China, and South Korea. Kodawarisan, a Japan-based Apple news website, first noticed the change, yet as AppleInsider has noted it seems further countries – such as Thailand and Vietnam – haven’t received their own versions of the Mac 30 mini-site. We’ll let you know if this changes, though.

In the meantime, in case you missed it last month we’ve embedded Apple’s Thirty Years of Innovation video below. If you’ve spotted a localized version of the Mac 30 mini-site for your country, let us know.

Update. It looks like Germany got a localized mini-site this week, too, as Apfelpage reported. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Xp697DqsbUU&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DXp697DqsbUU
