Bing For The iPhone Update Brings Multiple Search Management And More

February 24, 2014
Microsoft has just updated its Bing app for iPhone with a number of improvements and new features. First up, version 4.4 of the app allows users to search anywhere. Here’s more about the feature from the Bing blog:
To streamline navigation, we are introducing a pervasive widget that is always available within the app. With a simple tap, you have 4 finger friendly buttons that allow you to return to the homepage, conduct a voice search, conduct a text search or see your Recent searches. If you don’t feel like using the widget – turn it off in the settings and it’ll be out of your way.
And to help out the multitasker in all of us, the update allows users to run multiple results without having to get rid of the original information. All the recent searches can be managed on the aptly named Recent page. Providing more than just search results, the updated app keeps everyone up-to-date with what’s trending. Users can also shake their phone and the app will show a random trending story. Finally, users can open a search result via a browser or add a bookmark to quickly access favorite sites from within the app. Designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini, Bing can be downloaded now in the App Store for free. A separate Bing app is also available for the iPad/iPad mini, but it didn’t receive an update today.
