CNN has just updated its pair of popular iOS apps with a number of improvements.
Version 2.1 of both CNN for iPhone and CNN for iPad changes the way stories with videos are presented. While watching the video report, viewers can scroll down to read the accompanying text at the same time.
The Breaking News now appears at the top of the home screen and includes an option to close.
For iPhone users, a simplified section layout makes it easier to scan headlines quickly. And photos in galleries can be viewed in full screen.
On the iPad and iPad mini, users in the United States can access a live stream of CNN and HLN TV at any time by tapping on the red “Watch CNN” button at the top of the home screen.
Both apps are free and can be downloaded now in App Store.
The apps made the leap to version 2.0 in late December. Those versions brought an iOS 7 inspired design and other new features.
